Nice enough Joules pub split into 2 rooms and a courtyard out back. A total of 9 handpulls spread over two bars with 6 on one side and 3 on the other. Usual Joules beers but a seasonal ale on called No./37. Not bad but not great.

Nicely laid out Joule's pub tucked away from the main shopping area, but still fairly centrally located in Bridgnorth's high town. There are several different drinking areas with 2 main rooms, each sub-divided, connected with a courtyard. Doors from the one room were opened up to incorporate the outdoor courtyard, making this a very pleasant spot for a drink in warmer months.
3 barmaids were available to serve us. Although one appeared to be hiding away from public view due to a recent facial injury sustained in the pub! The regular Joule's beers were all on - Pale Ale, Pure Blonde & Slumbering Monk, in addition to a guest beer called Beer Tonic. Thatcher's Cheddar Valley cider was on another handpull.
I find most Joule's pubs have nice and cosy interiors, with plenty of traditional features. This one is no exception. If I had one criticism, it would be that I've yet to find one of their beers that I really enjoy. However, this is certainly one of Bridgnorth's better boozers.

Now a Joule's pub with an excellent choice of beers. Pure Blonde, Slumbering Monk and Pale Ale are the regulars with the seasonal Lakota and Malvern Gold as a guest. Well worth a visit.

The Shakespeare looks like a really nice pub from the outside and the old style road signs on the outside of it looked nice.
Once inside there is a small room to the front left and an open area to the front right,which has a darts board,the main room is to the rear,this is a long oblong shaped room with the bar on the left side,the front area of this room is bare boarded,the rear area is down one step and is carpeted and looks smarter,there is comfy bench seating facing the bar with chairs,the rear area has bench seating and chairs.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Marstons EPA,which was not on top form and was just drinkable,the other real ale was Banks's Bitter.
There was a TV on showing BBC news.
The pub was empty on our Saturday dinner visit.
This is a decent enough pub,just a shame the Marstons EPA was not up to scratch.

A Marston's house with four handpumps, of which three were on. These were a Banks bitter, Banks Mild and Boondoggle. The interior was traditional in décor and had a good atmosphere created by the friendly landlady. The pub consisted of a lobby entrance with a tiled floor and a dartboard. There was also a small room on the left hosting a pool table. The main room consisted of the original bar counter on the left a wood burning stove with lots of brassware surrounding it. The rear part of the pub was mainly set out for dining.

This may have changed hands as whatever other faults it may have poor beer isn't one of them. It is a long thin pub, with the counter well back from the High St end door and down a small flight of steps. Two handpumps with Banks's flavour of the month beers on, World Cup theme this month. Traditional pub furnishing of a few chairs with a odd bareboard and carpet mix. Low rent punters and staff but ok and the beer was fine.

Large white rendered Banks's house, with open plan interior and beer patio in the yard. The interior is a mix of plain wall and wallpapered walls, with some old pictures on the walls. Had a dining area and lounge - the latter with a wood floor. It was clean and friendly, with its own skittle alley.
The beer on offer was Banks's Bitter and MILD cask on electronic pump, with Jennings Honey Bole and i think another handpull. Honey bole was fine.
Another solid pub, to which i would return, but the beer is common enough for where i live, so maybe i would do this pub every other trip.

The last reviewer must have been paid by someone! On the several occasions I've been here (to meet people) I've not yet had a good pint. To give you an idea of the beer on my last visit I preferred the Mann's Brown to the draught on sale. A CAMRA member companion drank half his beer then ordered a cider (unfortunatley that was Strongbow). Do you get the idea - this place is comfortable but otherwise in my humble opinion it's a no no! Could do better - much better.

Great pub with what i found to be the lowest prices in Bridgnorth.CCTV pointing at you as you drink was irritating but the beer was top notch.
