Komakino . left this review about The Plough

This has flitted between periods of closure and re-opening and with limited opening hours, I was finally able to pay a visit on a Sunday arvo when in the area. Interior is as described below, although the decor has been smartened up with wood-effect flooring, white-painted walls, mood lighting and candles in Silent Pool gin bottles on each of the differing size and shaped tables. Three ales on the four stumps (a fourth unclipped) featuring Otter Bitter, St Austell Tribute and Wychwood Hobgoblin Gold. My Tribute was a little watery, but drinkable. This place was dead on my visit and I could feel the bored staff were angling for a brief stay from me so they could close early: that I didn't linger too long more for their sake than mine.

Old Boots left this review about The Plough

A low ceilinged Cotswold stone pub with two linked rooms at the front off a side entrance corridor, I didn't explore the back but there's a garden leading down to the River Windrush and upstairs there's a restaurant. The bar area is fairly pleasant, the end nearer the door has a dining pub feel while on the other side of the chimney breast it's a bit smaller and a bit more public bar like with a band of jolly locals in when I was there. Seating is mainly chairs and tables with some stretches of benches, décor in the traditional red and cream and there's a modern stone slab floor. Décor is by way of a few pictures , mirrors etc. The counter is in a corner of the “public” and is home to 4 handpumps serving Taylor's Landlord, Ringwood Best, Harvey Sussex, and Butts Barbus Barbus, I tried the Ringwood and it wasn't that good but drinkable enough, I don't know which are the regular beers. Usual kegs etc also available on a low T Bar. The service was of the “now you see them - now you don't” type. I will mention the blackboard outside that may give the impression that the Plough is GBG listed, it isn't but the real ales it sells are, look at the picture and make your own mind up.
