Old Boots left this review about The Shears

Brick built detached Victorian pub next to a very large old but still working water mill, it has a shop supplying the bread making fraternity of south Oxfordshire. The pub is a single open plan room
with raised seating areas at one end, the lower section is home to games machines, screen and pool table. There's a dart board in the raised end. Otherwise a fairly mundane place, there are two handpumps but the clips for Morlands Original and Greene king IPA were reversed, no real loss that so I had a sad Guinness instead. I won't be harsh on the place because it is run by a very nice bloke, it's friendly and gives the locals what they want , even if the landlord thinks Bud is a substitute for Becks. Best of all it doesn't smell of Pot Pourri or chip fat.
