A disappointing Wetherspoon's with a selection of real ales that were not very inspiring. The inside was just the usual decor with as many tables crammed in as possible.

As other reviews point out this is a very nice pub for a wetherspoons , probally the best i have encountered on my travels , unusually service was pretty good despite the pub being very busy with the pre theatre crowd , i managed two pints in here , Bath Special and St Peters Gold both in decent nick .

Apparently this was Oxford's second Wetherspoons when it opened in the heart of George Street and I just had to visit a pub named after one of the best comedy sketches ever written.
Internally this is quite a nice design for a ‘spoons as the previous reviewer mentions. It is expansive, but not in the windswept barn effect of some of the larger ‘spoons, and on two levels, the second forming a balcony around the first and it almost has a theatre feel in that way. The decor includes murals of Oxford scenes to give it a bit of a local feel.
The bar supports ten pumps and there were some good regional choices alongside the usual house nationals of Abbot and IPA. But as usual the pump display was blighted by the ubiquitous ‘coming soon’ labels that lazy ‘Spoon bar managers use to hide the fact they can’t be arsed to change the barrels. A couple of Yeovil Ales were on and the Summerset was a nice pint.
So one of the better outlets of Tim’s empire, but at the end of the day a ‘spoons by any other name, is still a ‘spoons.
