Komakino . left this review about Gardiner Arms

With a bit of a chequered history of late, this correctly-named pub (named after Sir John Whalley-Smythe-Gardiner - no, me neither) is now pleasingly open and had a decent turnout of locals of a certain age on a Sunday lunchtime visit. There's reverse L-shape internally upon entry, with the bar occupying the right-hand wall (an open doorway bottom right leading to a featureless quiet room with a scattering of tables and chairs notwithstanding) and a large inglenook-style fireplace jutting out from the left-hand wall. The room continues to the left of the bar up a step with a few tables and chairs against the left-hand wall. The interior décor is a cosy mix of exposed stone and fleur-de-lis carpet. Ales were provided by Hook Norton with Hooky and Greedy Goose on offer (a further two pump handles were unclipped). The Goose was in OK shape and a reasonably-priced £3.50. Pleasingly, there was no background muzak, and the murmur of background conversation made for an enjoyable and relaxing visit.
