Komakino . left this review about The Black Horse

An unashamedly GK eating outlet right next to The Black Bull with plenty of green livery out front and a five-ale line-up, three of which had a Bury St Edmunds slant - GK IPA, London Glory and Abbot Ale, accompanied by Robinson's Trooper and Evan Evans Britannia. This looks to have had a spruce-up in recent years, the island bar serving a high-vaulted room to the left, predominated by outdoor pub bench-style tables with a cosier room to the right (although the interior is open-plan). Oxford were playing in the Checkatrade Trophy Final at Wembley, so as well as a roaring trade in food, numerous screens were showing the match to a busy, local crowd. Bit of confusion at the bar as my companion had to return his vinegary Britannia, to which he almost got a 'it's supposed to be like that response'. It was eventually changed to a Trooper, but I got the complaints of the taste still lingering in his mouth all the way to The Kings Arms...
