Another attractive-looking Brakspear house in the Henley surrounds, this is a boxy L-shape internally, with the bar occupying the left-hand inside of the 'L'. Some tables and chairs are located opposite the bar with the size indicating their purpose is dual-fold. The area on the right hand-side of the 'L' is geared for dining, with most tables laid out; a smaller area beyond was covered in bookshelf wallpaper. The three ales on were Brakspear Bitter, Ringwood Razorback and Wychwood Seventh Heaven (£2 a half). The beer garden is secluded and surrounded by tall trees on all three sides, so either offers cool or sombre respite, depending on which way you want to look at it. The bar area can get a little crowded at peak times, as the locals usually commandeer the bar stools, so be prepared to enact sideways-on ordering.
