Has been face-lifted since my last visit but the clientele are similar, 100% male and almost all trades who knock-off at 4. Pool table, snooker on the telly, lively atmosphere. Two Brakspear cask and a Westons cider. My Brakspear Gravity was fine (NBSS 3) and the overheard conversation put a smile on my face. Whether you’d want to walk the ten minutes out of the centre for it though is another matter.

Quinno's epic Henley crawl ended here at the first pub many people see when they drive into Henley, a big building that straddles the split in the road as it forks. This is essentially a generic local, owned by and serving Brakspear - my Special was pretty good, one of the best of the evening. The friendly landlord gave me a free t-shirt for my pub crawl troubles as apparently I had managed to do all the Brakspear-owned ones. There weren't many people around and of those that were, I wasn't mad keen on most. My notes beyond this are a bit hard to fathom at this point but I'm fairly sure there was a TV... Rated 6

Light and bright triangular pub on road junction on way out of town. Very clean and tidy, nicely laid out with eating tables towards the rear, a good drinking area around the central bar, and a games area in the pointy bit. Nice welcome and very helpful staff. Draught beers seemed to be Brakspears Bitter and monthly special; former very well kept. Food not sampled but sounded good.

This is a generic local a little way out of Henley on the Reading Road.
I presume it was once a two bar pub but now knocked through into one large roomed place. It still keeps separate areas with there being a public type section supporting a pool table to the left of the bar as you walk in, and then a larger carpeted lounge area to the right which supports a wood floored dining area right at the end. There is a flat screen tele in the lounge section for the sport but it's tucked away close to the bar area and not obtusive.
It's a fairly standard back street boozer with no great redeeming features, but the lunchtime food we had could not be faulted and although we didn't appreciate it at the time, the Brakespears Beers we had here were probably the best kept of the weekend.
