Komakino . left this review about The Chequers Inn

A gastro country inn which also uses the name 'The Sweet Olive' for its restaurant. This is a two-roomer which with three fireplaces in total probably had further sub-division in a previous life. There's a generous bar area in the centre with what could be classed as bar dining tables to its left. A separate room to the bar's right accessed via a doorway to right of a small brick fireplace contains tables all set for dining. Just the one ale on despite the presence of three pumps, which pleasingly was West Berks Mr Chubb's (this area of Oxfordshire was formerly part of Berks until the 1974 County boundary changes), with the addition of Sharp's Doom Bar, Black Sheep Ale and Hook Norton Old Hooky in bottled forms. This place may be focussed in the food, but there's no truck with a liquid-only diet and I was welcomed warmly and even managed to commandeer a table to myself. There are better pubs in the area, but don't be scared off by this one's foody shoutings.
