Broadways is a decent sized L-shaped pub that had a handful of locals in attendance during a recent Thursday afternoon visit. The bar serves the entire pub and is surrounded with plenty of standing room which may have something to do with the DJ equipment that is set up on a raised area in the central corner. Apart from some seating around to the right of the pub all of the seating is found in raised areas around the exterior walls. To the left of the pub is a test your strength boxing machine and a dartboard. Plasma screens are located throughout for showing BT Sport and some random background music was playing.

The bar is stocked with standard draught products and I noted the presence of cask St Austell’s Tribute and Courage Best. Drink deals are available and food is served from opening until 16:00. This pub opens early at 10:00 on Saturdays and 11:00 on Sundays and I expect that there is a late closing weekend license. Children are welcome throughout the day.

I found the service to be polite, but I wouldn’t make a special trip to visit here again as I found it to be an average town centre boozer.

Quite an impressive building. Three ales inside; Tribute, a Wychwood Xmas Ale (Goblins Ghoulies or something daft) and Courage Best. Plumped for the Tribute which was surprisingly good, one of the better beers of a day which had also taken in OX1. A fairly large and sparse interior, tatty round the edges. Intriguingly there was red telephone box in situ. Two dart boards also noted with a keen game underway on one of them. Enough here to get the score up a little though I can’t help but think that this could (and should) be the premier pub in Didcot.
