A renovated village pub which has gained a well-deserved reputation for good food. The front bar has been rebuilt in a traditional style and has plenty of space for vertical and seated drinking. The ambience is pleasant, the staff are friendly and the locals are, on the whole, a decent bunch, albeit some of the females lack a volume control. The restaurant area at the back is a bit more refined and is out-of-bounds to dogs. Children are tolerated to a point but no nonsense is allowed. Food was very good quality bistro food, not cheap but well cooked and presented. Ales on were Otter Bitter, North Cotswold Green Man IPA and Old Hookey, all in excellent condition. Definitely worth a revisit.

Formerly The Quart Pot, this is a traditional village pub now contemporised, so a dark colour scheme and dim lighting abound. Fair play to them on the ale front though, as Hooky Bitter was accompanied by two local brews - Church Farm's Pale Ale and Harry's Heifer (both decent) at £2.00 a half each. Much emphasis on the food, and if you're just there for a drink, expect to be asked if there's "anything else?".
