Kind of on a square fronting the main road, small bar area to the right, mixed lounge with sofas, some high booths and other random seating. Real ales from Everards. Nice enough place

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about White Horse

Pleasingly traditional Good Beer Guide pub, with a partly opened-out, multi-space interior with at least five different seating / dining areas in an overall L shape. Mixture of furniture and of different bits and pieces to look at. I understand it to be a Project William pub, so no surprise to find Everard's Tiger, but that brewery's limited edition Pitch Black stout was also available from a duplicated selection on the two banks of five handpumps. The other real ales were Daydreamer from Little Oxford (£4.00), Old Hooky and Brill Gold.

A sizable roomy pub with five interesting beers on across the ten handpumps, five in each room.I tried Three Little Pigs from Slaughterhouse,a decent drop.A pub well worthy of a visit.

A decent project William pub that is well worth popping into. This is a good sized pub with plenty of seating options. The interior is traditional with the largest room at the front along with a panelled snug on the right of entrance. There was also a back room, which had a fairly new looking black upright piano at the entrance. This is used on there Tuesday jazz nights. Five pumps along the front bar and five along the bar in the back room, with their beers doubled up. Choices on our visit were, Turpin Golden Citrus, Slaughterhouse Piglet, White Rock Wonky Donkey from Guernsey, Everards Tubby and Everards Tiger. I went for the Turpin Golden Citrus, which was decent.
The only downside on this visit was the unengaging barman, who was more interested in chomping on his roll and watching the footie.

Eclectic decoration and furnishings.

Excellent real ales on - I had an Everards Tiger and a never seen before Affinity (Champion Beer of Norfolk, no less).

Seemed quite expensive to me - £5.80 for a pint and a half of cider? Less than a fiver in the much more salubrious Three Pigeons where we came from.

Worth checking out.

This would seem to be a Project William pub without any obvious partner. The blackboard listing the beers for September made no mention of White Horse beers although there were a couple listed from Vale brewery neither of which were on.
Inside it's a nice enough open plan area, roughly L shaped and with an assorted clientele on my Saturday evening visit. Live music was advertised for Friday nights.
The bar has two sets of five hand pumps but all seemed to be doubled up. As far as I could make out beers available were Everard's Tiger, Beacon Hill & Sunchaser, a Turpin beer and Derby Black Magic. I went for the Black Magic (£3.70) which was so good I stopped for a second.
It's not the best Project William pub as it seems to be an Everard's pub with a couple of guests but was still the best pub visited in Banbury on the day.

Brief revisit found eight pumps which were doubled-up so only four ales on, though to be fair there were brews from the likes of Joules and Itchin Valley, served by a single and harassed-looking barkeep. No sign of any White Horse beers, have they pulled out? Two real ciders spotted and a bit different to the usual ‘names’. The interior seems to have been given a going-over to make it more pubby than previous which works well, although they could have done with turning the heating up a bit (I noted the fire was smoking rather than burning). Discovered a small but well-done patio area to the rear. Remains a 7, could and should get higher.

Formerly the Buck/Buck & Bell, which was apparently a bit of a low-grade barn. It has recently been taken over by Everards and leased to White Horse Brewery, presumably as part of the Project William scheme to transform failing pubs. The interior looks to be 100% new and is done to a high standard in a fairly traditional style, brown shades seem to be the predominant colour of choice. Whilst it seems a little clinical at present I'm sure it'll feel more inviting once its been 'lived in' for a bit. Ten ales on the go, with a bank of White Horse beers facing you as you enter, with a pretty interesting (if unexciting style-wise) set of guests plus a permanent Everards beer on the other side of the bar. I had a pint of White Horse which was very well kept and gratifyingly cheap if the price of the round was anything to go by. Low volume background muzak, didn't spot a TV but didn't look very hard. Service was fine and I'd happily pop back here. Certainly one to do when in town on this showing. Banbury doesn't have a great deal of interesting ale pubs so this one is to be welcomed. Rated 7

If The White Horse is still a Project William collaboration between the White Horse and Everards breweries then it is something of a disappointment.
It's an imposing stone building on the main road through Banbury and has clearly been relatively recently refurbished. The pub doesn't seem to have been done as well as most of the other Project William houses which I've visited. In addition, there aren't any White Horse beers available so perhaps Everards have taken over completely. Whatever the case, as a large pub it was sparsely populated on our Thursday evening visit with that air of melancholy which often precedes something of a change.
Beers on were: Miners Miners Best Bitter, Newark Norwegian Blue and three from Everards being Ascalon, Sunchaser and Tiger. The Tiger was perfectly drinkable and a couple went down but I have had better.
Banbury struggles for decent beer so The White Horse is worth a visit for the Tiger alone.

Bucking Fastard left this review about White Horse

A large open plan interior in a pub which was originally part of Project Williams but which now appears to offer mainly Everards ales with two guests from the five handpumps, with the second bank of five further down the L shaped bar simply doubling up the choice at the front. That meant Everards Tiger (OK but I've had better),Sunchaser and seasonal Ascalon with the two guests Newark Norwegian Blue and Merry Miner Best Bitter.(No sign of the original Project William showcasing of ales from the White Horse Brewery)
Internally there is a rank of high seating booths to the left, some pleasant wood paneling to the side of the bar,and several tables extending back down the long interior with a beer patio outside.Dogs are allowed in the bar area where there are also two flatscreen and this is where the small band of customers were gathered on my Thursday evening visit.
The pub gives the impression of having lost it's way on the real ale front, but as I prefer Everards to the ubiquitous Hook Norton beers found in Banbury ,it's worth a visit if crawling the town centre pubs.

Old Boots left this review about White Horse

T shaped interior with odd assortment of tables and chairs including a raised area of back to back modern benches, the whole place is an odd mix of new and old, the decor style being mainly old. The counter sits at one side of the head of the T and down the long leg, it has five pumps on each face, doubled up but a good selection of beers from smaller brewers and well kept - it's a GBG2014 pub. Down the leg is laid for eating and is used sometimes for functions including funereals according to their little brouchure. There's a garden at the back.
