Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Bramley Apple

Probably more of a locals' boozer than the town's other pubs? Fairly basic interior in the bar, with an archway to the left of the main entrance housing a pool table. Just Golden Duck from Mallard Brewery (£3.50) available from one of the six handpumps, with deliveries from other local micro-breweries expected over the next few days according to the landlord.

Modern fittings in an old building run by Springhead Brewery and it seems to be frequented largely by dickheads and the terminally pissed. Eight pulls on the counter, only three in use all with Springhead beers, and probably a waste of space anyway.

The Bramley apple is located a short walk from the Minster in the delightful village of Southwell. From the outside the pub looks very old and traditional with a nice pub sign and Springhead Brewery banner. Inside things are a little more modern and less traditional the front façade would suggest with hard stone flagged floors and more bright/modern colour scheme. The pub is one room with a few different sections with he seating areas to the front with two comfy couches on the right hand side with more chairs and tables at the back with a pool table round the corner. We sat on the couches but if these were busy this would not be the most comfortable place to sit with just hard wooden chairs on the hard floor. This pub was closed the last time I came to Southwell and I hear rumours that there has been a bit of turmoil with previous landlords to things have been a little rocky here as of late. It is still owned by the Springhead Brewery (A brewery I like rather a lot) but a friend informed me of her disappointment a few months earlier of the lack of ale which was concerning. Undeterred I visited only cold January afternoon only to find it closed but no worry as it opened at four midweek so we Just ventured to another pub and came back a little later. Shock horror, NO ALE! There were no hand pumps and not a drop to drink so we settled for a Guinness at £3.80. Coincidence? I think not, and the “our delivery is a day late” is a complete B*****ks to be honest. It was ok but not a patch on some of Southwells other gems and with no ale on takes the title of second worst pub in Southwell after the lousy Crown up the road. Id return if the beer line-up returned but left rather unimpressed on this visit,

Really enjoyed our visit here as I found the staff pleasant and friendly. The pub had a traditional low bar serving eight Springhead beers on handpump. I settled on the Robin Hood, Leveller, Maid Marian and Fallen Angel. The pub was comfortable and Icould have happily stayed for a good few hours.

Lovely village pub, seven handpumps, black rat cider plus 6 bitters from a variety of breweries including nearby Springhead, whose bitter was delicious. Roaring Meg was also on offer from this local source. If you want the 12:40 (bus61) connection to Oxton, however, do not wait at the stop outside, as this service only starts at Southwell Minster, and the next one is 13:50(?), and Southwell has no taxi service… Can't blame that on this nice pub though, or its friendly licencees; only time for one pint but gotta lean toward an 8.

The Bramley Apple is set back from the road and is quite close to the Hearty Goodfellow.
Once inside there was a decent sized room with the bar to the right, the room had a mixture of seating types and it was a decent enough place to sit and have a few drinks in.
There were around seven pumps on the bar all in use with a good few beers from Springhead brewery,we had a drink of Springhead bitter and this was a very nice drink, there was also Springhead Leveller and Roaring Meg on plus Bath Ales Gem.
This is quite a nice pub that is worth a visit along with the other two pubs on this stretch of road.
