Just two hand pumps here with Sharps Doom Bar and Timothy Taylor Landlord available. As this was the 13th pub of the Alan Winfield Memorial Pub Crawl my notes were becoming increasingly sketchy, so I refer readers to the review below by the man himself.

This used to be an Home Ales tied house with four rooms and excellent beer, the pub was altered and ruined in the late 80s and it now has two rooms there is a smartish lounge on the right and an L shaped bar to the left which also has a pool table in it.
There are no real ales here only John Smiths smooth crap.

Update: The pub did start to do real ales and looked quite nice and well looked after.

Shame this has all come to an end,the White Lion is now closed and boarded up.

Pub first visited 1980 and too many times to mention after that,i played for their tables skittles team in the 80s.

A very recent visit to the White Lion found two real ales on the bar,the lounge to the right is very smart with raised areas to the front and right, carpeted and comfy bench seating and chairs.
I had a drink of keirans Tipple or something of a similar name, the bar was very busy with people on bar stools,i was told it is Courage Best which is rebadged,it went down well though, the other beer was St Austell Tribute.
I still pefer the pub how it was in the 80s but that can never come back, this is a decent and comfortable pub to have a drink in.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The White Lion

Imposing two-bar roadhouse. Fairly basic, but well maintained. Friday night disco in the lounge. Quieter public bar with large screen and pool table. Two of three handpumps in operation, offering Tribute and Pedigree (£2.10).
