Alan Winfield left this review about The Queen Elizabeth

The Queen Elizibeth was a fairly small single roomed pub that was situated up bottle lane, the large waterstones book shop is in front of where the pub used to be.
This pub was known to locals as the QE,once inside there was one square shaped room with the bar facing the room was carpeted and had normal tables and chairs.
The pub used to be an Home Ales tied house and there were two real ales on the bar with the Home bitter being average here the other beer was Home mild.
I have been in this pub many times with my wife and always enjoyed the lively atmosphere here.
Sadly this pub closed down in the early 2000s during the redevelopment of this area.
