Located within old stone farm buildings and adjacent to a large car park, Larch Farm is an L-shaped pub and restaurant that was very busy with pensioners during my visit around 14:00 on a recent Wednesday. To the left of the entrance are some tables and the toilets, and to the right is a small section of bar with more seating and a television that was airing muted rolling news. The main bar area is straight ahead in an old barn where it faces open plan split-level seating under a vaulted roof full of farm related artifacts. The bar counter supports three hand pumps that were drawing GK Abbot Ale, TT Landlord and Stancill Brewery’s Black as well as a traditional ciders and a limited standard and premium keg selection. This counter is surrounded by chalkboards listing food menus, seafood seems to be the speciality. The main reason for my visit was to get some food so I ordered the cheeseburger which was very good value coming in at £10. All of the tables were either taken or reserved so I had to eat on one of the picnic tables out front by the entrance. The service was polite and the food good value so I would eat here again, but this isn’t somewhere I would go just for a beer.

The Larch Farm is a large modern pub that has been converted from old farm buildings.
Once inside there are dining rooms to each side of the entrance,the main bar room is to the rear with the serving bar to the front right,this room is quite large and oblong shaped it extends to the rear of the pub,the room is carpeted and there is a slight raised area to the rear,the seating is normal tables and chairs, nearly all taken and those which were not had reserved signs on them which i ignored,i sat down at one of these tables which were reserved for later in the day,but was told to leave as it was reserved,i refused to leave by saying the table was reserved for later in the day.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Castle Rock Harvest Pale which was on top form.
This pub is far too foody for my liking with rooms set aside for diners and the main bar room also being full of them.
Beer nice, pub not.
