The Lady Bay is a large family friendly Greene King pub with a children’s play area and large front patio with seating and a huge outside screen that was showing Wimbledon Tennis to the after school mum crowd on a recent Wednesday afternoon. The interior is split-level with parquet flooring and carpeted raised seating areas. I didn’t investigate the left rear section of the pub, but I imagine this is where the advertised pool table and dartboard is. Live football is advertised and there are televisions throughout.
The bar counter on the rear wall supports standard, premium and craft keg as well as five hand pumps that were drawing GK IPA and Abbot alongside Abbeydale’s Moonshine and two ciders from Lilley’s. I went for the Moonshine that tasted of very little. There was a bit of pouring from one glass to another behind the bar which I don’t like, but this was my first beer of the day so my kahunas weren’t yet large enough to have a pop. The pub co food menu is available with the mains being priced at around a tenner. It was OK in here, but there are too many good pubs with well kept beer in Nottingham to warrant a revisit.

You can always tell when its a Greene king pub that has been acquired from another brewery because they are usually pretty nice buildings (which says a lot about most of their self conceived pubs. This Former Kimberly pub is one of only two pubs east of the Forest ground in the mainly residential area of west bridgford, the other being the poppy and pint. Inside is one large room with may tables and chairs with the bar at the back with a separate room housing a pool table. The inside is much more generic than the outside suggests and follows the Greene King chain formula which is a shame. On the bar were five hand pumps with four being from Greene King or one of their aquired brewerys (Greene king IPA, Abbot, Purple rain and belhaven golden boy) and a guest which was Abedale Moonshine at £.45 which is a lot for Nottingham but this is supposedly one of the more "elite" areas. Apart from the price this was a very nicely kept pint which is saying something for Greene king pubs i have visited in the past.
This is an ok pub if in the area but the poppy and pint round the corner is a gem of a pub and by far the pick of the two if this side of west Bridgford, I would pop in again if passing but wouldn't want to stay the night .

The Lady Bay is a large suburban pub this used to be a Kimberley tied house but its now a Greene King pub,the pub has been done up and it is now a smart and comfortable pub which does a lot of food trade, but there are still plenty of places for people just to have a drink, there were four handpumps on the bar with three from the greene king range i tried Nottingham Ledgend and this was a decent drink i would be quite happy to come back here again.
