The John Barleycorn was a half timbered pub on the corner of nuthall road and broxtowe lane and this is a very busy road junction.
This pub used to be a Shipstones tied house and it was done up by the brewery in the early 80s making it look quite smart inside.
There was Shipstones mild and bitter on here and both were decent drinks and both were real ales.
Sadly this pub has been tinned up for quite a few years and i think it has now been demolished making it yet another Nottingham pub consigned to history.
