After a refurbishment this is now a Chef and Brewer pub located in the small village of Wilford next to Moderns rugby club. This is a very old cottage style building with wooden beams and low ceilings. The interior is more modern after the refurbishment and has a lot of modern furniture and hard wood floors which I feel take away from the rustic charm of the pub, I would have much preferred an older style that would have matched better instead of the generic Interior all these branded pubs now seem to have. There are a few separate rooms that have been knocked through but keep their own identities because of the old layout means different areas can be distinguished which makes things feel a little cosier. The bar stocks five real ales with a Greene King product (IPA Gold on my visit) and Doombar always available alongside Bass (A regular) and two guests which on my visit was Shipstons Gold Star with the 0ther pump not in use. The Gold star is not really to my taste and had it been any of the other Shipstons range I would have opted for that so instead had an ok pint of Bass for a reasonable £2.98 but it was a bit on the cold side and served without a sparkler and poured badly making it flat as a pancake which I did not like too much. All in all A decent little pub to stop and have a beer in but one I think would have made a better impression without the generic Chef and Brewer chain branding which gives the impression a sense some of the character of the pub has been lost.

The Ferry Inn used to be a Shipstones tied house, it is an old and decent looking pub in wilford its just across the footbridge over the trent from the meadows area of Nottingham.Inside the pub has lots of different drinking areas and is quite olde worlde there were four handpumps on the bar but i car'nt remember what i had to drink here but it was a decent drink the pub does a lot of food trade but normal drinkers are still made welcome i think this pub is well worth a visit.
