An old fashioned sort of town pub, popular with twerlies and families at lunchtime which suggests good value food. The layout hints at previous rooms, with a tiny bar in the front room and a larger one behind, but it is all much of a muchness nowadays. Furnishings and decor are tidy but dated. A couple of Hadrian's ales were on handpump in fair condition.
