Upmarket hotel and diner, a two-tier floor with the bar off to the left. Bottle green settles, cream and mushy pea green colour scheme. Two pumps with one on, a decent Firebrick Pagan Queen (slightly hazy NBSS 2.5). Amusement value gleaned from one of the serving staff confidently telling a group of potential diners that they’d stopped serving (they hadn’t and she got a dressing-down from the manager out of their earshot, but not mine). One to tick in town if you’re crawling as it has ok cask but it’s hardly essential.

A very clean and well kept bar and restaurant, with an exceptionally good pint of Reivers IPA. We would have eaten here, as it has some good reviews on Trip Adviser. The fish and chip shop on our way from the station had already satisfied our needs.
