Alan Winfield left this review about Ranelagh Arms
The Ranelagh Arms is a decent looking well kept back street pub.
Once inside the pub still has two seperate rooms, there is a small oblong shaped bar to the right which was empty on my early evening visit, the lounge to the left is larger and squareish in shape, this room was very busy with a good mix of drinkers.
There was comfy bench seating to the front and a raised area to the left, the room was carpeted and looked quite smart.
The pub is a Charles Wells tied house, the only one i found in a town which used to have load of their houses, there were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Charles Wells Eagle bitter which went down very well, the other beer was Courage Directors.
The pub had a good lively atmosphere, there was some very good music playing at quite a loud volume, just how a like it.
I really enjoyed my short time in this pub.
