Old Boots left this review about The Red Lion Inn

At first I thought the pub was shut in spite of all the outside lights being on but as I turned to walk away I heard the distinct sound of happy drinkers, I then noticed the sign saying entrance via archway. On entering the pub I was transported back to a better time, traditional furniture, polished brass bell for calling last orders and time, horse brasses, glass jugs hanging from the ceiling behind the bar, carpet on the floor except round the counter and well kept beer. Mine host, and we must call him such as he was equally traditional; friendly, joking and bantering when required, tough with objectionable punters. Apart from the brasses, the pictures, prints and framed postcards are well chosen, it even sports a yard of ale and yard long brass coach horn. I’ll even forgive the bar blockers as they were polite enough to move out the way in the traditional style. Depending on taste this is probably the best of the three pubs in the village, certainly for beer quality. Three pulls of regionals’ beers, Adnams, Bombardier, plus one from Grainstore.

Ga Andrews left this review about The Red Lion Inn

Visited Evening of 20th September 2011
Moderate 10 minute walk up hill from the canal, with the co-op just a minute further.
This is an old grey stone/ brick pub, very cosy, dark and a bit warren like inside, with exposed brick work and nice dark timber panelling. Lots of old Brass works on display. Seemed reasonably busy for a Tuesday night.
Although 4 real ales, only Rucking Mole that something a bit different from Bombardier, Deuchers IPA and Speckled hen.
Had an interesting menu with a good specials board and seemed reasonably priced £11 for Rib eye steak. Lamb Chops for £8.95.

Bucking Fastard left this review about The Red Lion Inn

A traditional stone built pub in a terrace of cottages with a courtyard to the side which is where the entrance is situated.Walk through a small side lounge to the square shaped bar where drinkers gather to either side, one with a good sized inglenook and traditional pub furniture.Four handpumps with Deuchars IPA,Bombardier ,one reversed and finally very well kept Hop Back Summer Lightning .Beyond the bar area is a further seating area which is popular with diners, especially in the evenings.Yet the Red Lion maintains its pub atmosphere and is my boozer of choice in Crick.
