The Gardeners Arms is a small corner pub that i really like doing as they are a dying breed.
Once inside there is a oblong shaped room which runs to the rear, the bar is on the right side, there is a small raised area to the front left, the seating is comfy chairs and tables and tall tables and chairs opposite the bar, there is a pool table to the rear.
The pub is Greene King tied house, there were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of GK IPA which was decent enough, there was also GK Abbot on.
The TVs were showing BT Sports and background music was playing.
I thought this was a decent pub to have a drink in.

Utterly basic knocked-through dog leg locals outlet. Wood floor, cream walls and an intricate dado rail. Pool and darts at the rear. Apparently there is also (according to WhatPub) Northants skittles but I saw no sign of it on our brief Saturday evening visit. Footy on a drop-down screen with aspect ratios incorrectly set so we were watching 7ft stickmen. Attracts a boisterous crowd. Two ales on, GK IPA and a pretty pedestrian Abbot. Best left to the locals, this one.

A sign outside says ‘pints for peanuts’ and I would agree that the alcohol in this pub is very cheap, but I could have done without the old local following me around the pub spreading his joy about the low prices. To be honest the rest of the regulars were all very friendly and the bar staff were more than happy to accommodate the twenty one strong stag group I was with. At the rear of the pub there is a pool table, pub skittles and a dartboard along with a projector screen, but I didn’t see any Sky Sports signs. The jukebox was playing and someone had put on a ‘Christmas Greatest Hits’ CD to get everyone in the mood and I would say that there was a good atmosphere compared to the other pubs we visited in this area on Saturday afternoon.

There is a small garden out the back that has some seating which was being used solely for popping out for a cigarette.

I wouldn’t go out of my way to drink here again, but this Greene King pub did serve its purpose well on this occasion.
