Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Fish
Old town centre pub with a distinctive turret above the main corner entrance, renamed back to the original (having been the Market Tavern most recently). Opened-out staple-shaped layout, with a lounge beyond the bar on the right-hand side and a partly raised area off to the left. Covered yard at the back. Old Spooky Hen (£4.30 with an unspecified Camra discount) on one of the five handpumps, and Deuchars replacing Abbot on another.

Alan Winfield left this review about Market Tavern
The Market Tavern is a decent enough looking pub that is situated in the middle of Northampton.
Once inside there is a single U shaped room with the bar facing, the floor is bare boarded, there is some american type diner seating to the front, the left side is up one step, there is bench seating and chairs in this area.
The pub is a Greene King tied house, there were two real ales on he bar,i had a drink of Greene King Summer Breeze, which was a decent enough drink, the other beer was GK IPA.
Food was being served and the TVs were showing football.
It was very busy on our Saturday dinner visit.

This is a real review....Popped into Tommy Flynn's for a pint and some food on a Saturday lunch time. The place was very busy, as was all of Northampton. We opened a tab and ordered 9 main courses for our large party. the food arrived in good time, was hot and tasted pretty good.
On the bar were London Pride, Robinsons Trooper and Bombardier. The Pride and Trooper were both on top form as was the wine selection made by the ladies.
A good pub in the heart of Northampton with decent beer and food. Worth a visit, but nothing special on the beer front.
