This is a detached Georgain styled stone built pub. It is of three storeys, with sash windows and large stone lintels, with a low-level side annex built at an angle. The interior has two main areas. The bar is an L-shape, with a part partioned side area with a pool table and an area at the other end, with a large fireplace and comfy seating. The deore is cream artex, with coffee, some red and stone. There are mixed pictures on the walls, a TV that wasn't on and the music came via a jukebox - strong rock - so much better than the charty tosh you often get. There is a connecting door through to another room that had sofas and things - but this was empty. The main room was busy enough and the fact that it is a locals place was shown by the birthday cake and greeting given by the friendly staff to one customer. Beer; usual tap stuff, with mulled wine. On the pulls there was Hobgoblin, Phipps IPA, Grainstore Ten Fifty and J Church Brewing's Rev and Go. The last three were very good, especially the Ten Fifty. A quality stop off, and not just for the beer - i would happily return.

The Woolpack is a decent looking three storey stone built pub.
Once inside there was an L shaped room with the bar facing, the room was carpeted and had normal tables and chairs plus a couple of leather settees, there was a seperate room to the right.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Phipps India Pale Ale which went down very well, the other beer was Hobgoblin.
The pub was fairly busy with a decent crowd of drinkers on our late Saturday afternoon visit.
This is quite a nice unaltered pub.

Note: This pub opens at 2.00pm on Saturdays.
