A long pub where the original front two rooms have been knocked through to give a further corridor like room stretching backwards. The counter runs down the side and is home to six pulls, sadly the first I tried was a barrel end and cloudy; it was changed without question. Two beers were off so proof again of less is more. Very nicely decorated and with proper bench seats and Victorian stuff, shame about the music. Pool table at the far end next to toilets. Weekly live music.

A handsome pub located between the river and the Abbey, the Three Swans has various posters in the windows advertising various of their ale offers.
Sadly, once inside four of the six handpumps had clips reversed with just the two offering the house beer, Acorn Three Swans, at a low price of £2 a pint if I recall correctly, and Bosun's Neptune. The surly barmaid poured us a half of the latter which was flabby at best and barely drinkable.
Selby isn't overly endowed with decent ale houses and this is not one of them.

A good looking traditional pub exterior, matched by an authentic interior.Either side of the entrance there are leather upholstered banquettes below the windows, while the bar is in the middle left of the building, with a pool table at the rear.Bar stools around the bar were popular with the regulars but their bar blocking behaviour made seeing what was on offer rather challenging.
And this was the biggest dissapointment,as we were lured in by a sign outside saying 6 real ales available.Four clips were turned, there was a house Pale brewed by Acorn and Bosuns King Neptune, which was badly out of condition and not even value at £2.80.
Throughput maybe cant justify a 6 ale offering, but the sign promised otherwise and I have deducted points accordingly.I can see no reason to return.

The Three Swans is a decent looking pub that is situated in a quiet area of the town centre.
Once inside i went into an oblong shaped room which had comfy bench seating either side of the front door, the room is carpeted and the bar is on the left side, there are bar stools for seating down the right side.
There is a pool table and darts board to the rear, plus a large TV to the rear left which was showing Football.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Rudgate Jorvic Blonde which was a very nice well kept beer, the other beer was John Smiths Cask.
Background music was playing.
This is a pleasant pub to have a drink,a shame it was empty on my Saturday Afternoon visit.
