Old Boots left this review about Nelson Inn

Two room river/canalside pub, the taps are only in the left hand room. Three pulls with beers from Theakstons, Bombardier (reversed) and Brown Cow. One pull is dedicated to a regular who died in 2013. GBG listed and my beer was spot on in spite of being first through the door. Fairly plain decor, sadly an amount of grey woodwork and bluey-grey upholstery, comfy and cosy though. Darts, fruit machine, big screen and big speakers are confined to one end of the bar.

Still almost exactly as previous review - the White Dragon was in especially good form. Very much a locals' pub, tucked away the 'wrong' side of the railway. Cask Marque listed.

Alan Winfield left this review about Nelson Inn

The Nelson Inn is a decent looking bare brick built pub that is opposite the River Ouse.
I quite liked the look of this pub from the outside.
Once inside the pub has two separate rooms, there is a pool room to the front right, the main bar room is to the left, the room is oblong shaped and runs to the rear, the room is carpeted and the seating comfy bench type and small stools.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Brown Cow White Dragon, which went down well, the other beer was John Smiths Cask.
There is a TV to the rear which was showing rugby, loud background music was playing.
I quite liked this pub.

Probably not worth seeking out if you're looking for quality ale but a reliable standby should you be passing. The Nelson is on the Ouse and is a standard Victorian local but benefits from being clean and friendly. Only John Smiths Cask on but, being a hot day, a cold 1664 went down very well.

Bucking Fastard left this review about Nelson Inn

A neat and tidy two roomed local close to the canal basin.Three handpumps but only John Smith Cask available on our trip, there is normally a guest from Theakstons.Friendly welcome and open on Monday lunchtime unlike a lot of other pubs in the area.
