A good solid high-ceilinged Victorian corner pub, still with the nice counter and bar back but rather spoiled by the unpleasant fire doors and multiple TV screens. Sadly now in the misnamed Craft Union brand, which means no real or craft ales at all.

Open plan and L shaped it has an outstanding counter and bar-back, no doubt from elsewhere but quite splendid, otherwise just a bit too modernised a pub although the bench seating remains. A UK keg choice of about ten plus three hand pulls with Doombar and an average Black Sheep Bitter on two of them the third being spare. The usual screens and machines plus the obligatory pool table and darts at the back, decor from a few old photos, so that's all good then.

Went here in October 2009, Good selection of Titanic beers, really enjoyed the evening, good jukebox for background music. Locals friendly & I'll go back again.

We only went in here because of a footy match we wanted to see. No real choice of beer; JB had to have the black stuff with a harp on and i had to have a John Smith's shandy (well, had to have something to give it taste). The guy behind the bar was friendly, despite being as deaf as a post! the atmosphere was fine, its just a pity that there was nothing worth drinking - it would have scored higher!
