A rather basic two room pub with a pool table in the right hand room, the counter to the rear of the lefthand room. At one time a Vaux pub that brewery’s name was until recently shown on the pub sign and the lantern above the door. It was purchased by the former landlady of the nearby Ship Inn and she planned to renovate it and change its name to the Yorkshire Rose, the pub was repainted outside but unfortunately the lady died before the pub reopened. It has been closed for a few years and is the subject of planning applications for housing use.
