It’s had a make over but surprisingly not using navy surplus paint, two pulls with a dreadful Landlord and Jennings Cumberland wherever that’s manufactured now which I didn’t bother with. The punters haven’t had a makeover, it’s still a back street local, anywhere else its canal side (almost) location would involve gentrification but this is Ripon so it didn’t quite come off. Still got lots of screens, probably more, still got the low end national kegs. Pool table available along with a juke box and games machine. Other than the locals all the interesting stuff has gone.

Corner pub next to the end of England's most northerly canal, hence the name. Big open plan U shaped room with comfortable seating, big screen TV and a pool table. Only reasonably kept John Smiths Cask available on handpump plus the usual Fosters, Guinness, Strongbow range of kegs, Guinness seems especially popular here. There is a dart board, photos of previous pub sports teams and lots of trophies plus a corner devoted to Leeds United. Very much an older locals pub but quite friendly.
