Graham Coombs left this review about The Bruce Arms

A cute-looking little pub just off the market place. Inside it is all stone walls, rustic wood furniture, bright colours and cushions. To the left is a dartboard and to the right an eating area. A large garden at the back includes a covered section with a gin bar, a barbecue, and a lower play area. Ales on were TT Landlord, Black Sheep Best and Theakston's Best, Lightfoot and Old Peculier.

Three main beers; Black Sheep, Theakston and Timmy Taylor Landlord plus a fourth handpump in the summer months.
Now serving food between noon and 4; not sure if the Indian restaurant is permanent.
Huge beer garden, perfect for letting a summer's days drift away!

Old Boots left this review about Bruce Arms Public House

Traditional pub tucked away in a side street off the market place. White washed building partly with exposed stone, ceiling beams, and wood interior, it comprises one room that appears to have been created out of three smaller ones. Tired Black Sheep Bitter plus Theakston's Best and John Smith's Cask, a fourth handpull was not in use during my visit. Run of the mill range of kegs; Becks, 1664, Fosters, Carling plus Guinness and a cider. Bench seating all round, a large TV in one room plus a selection of machines and a dart board, there is also a pleasant rear garden. When I was there only the landlord was working, serving a few quiet older men and women. Limited weekday opening hours.

===Summer 2010 Update===

Now sharing the building with an Indian Restaurant and Takeaway, "Spice Lounge", as the pungent smells will affirm, otherwise much the same. My Golden Sheep was excellent though.
