Old Boots left this review about The Spotted Cow

Recently reopened after a refurb. Multi room layout. The yobbish punters and poor beer quality make this one to swerve, previously in the GBG but very doubtful if it'll ever be again on this showing.

Small, traditional pub tucked away near the cattle market. Comfortable & cosy with 4 real ales of good quality

This Grade 2 listed building dates back to the 16th century and is an unspoiled time warped pub that is full of character with flag floors and low ceilings. The pub has 2 rooms with the tap room to the left on entry and a more opened up room forward of this, with three handpulls on the bar although only 2 were functioning on my visit.
Arrived just after noon and around 30 of the Yorkshire tea brigade were already in consuming gallons of the stuff without an alcoholic drink in sight. My first thoughts were that it was the Adge Cutler and the Wurzels appreciation society on a day out but soon realised it was the local farmers who had been to the cattle market which is next to the pub.Definitely worth a visit.
