The village pub of Harpham seems to have fairly limited opening hours. It opens 5 lunchtimes a week and 5 evenings. I arrived prior to the Friday evening session and was one of several people waiting for the doors to be opened. The others were all here for food.

First through the door, I was faced with a choice of Theakston Best Bitter or Wold Top Wold Gold. The others were given menus to peruse, whilst I sat down to enjoy my drink.

There was a small room to the right on entry, with the bar itself to the left, along with an adjoining room. Most tables were set up for dining, leaving me with a table next to the bar.

A pleasant rural pub that has most likely been forced to diversify to food, given our changing lifestyles, but still holds interest for the casual drinker. Surprisingly, it's in the current Good Beer Guide.
