It’s been 12 and a half years since the late lamented Alan Winfield was here, it’s now proclaimed a freehouse and they’ve done up the inside. Still one long thin room with a pool table at the back, modern tallish benches down the sides at industrial tables. There’s a reminder of an older pub at the front with banquettes round the window, perhaps a VIP area as it was screened off with a Madri banner or perhaps not. Carpet each end with board in the middle, a few screens in the counter area and a dartboard. It retains two handpumps, Tetley cask on one and a Jolly Sailor beer on the other that was vinegar; thank god I only had a half. Two T-Bars doubled up with standard stuff.

This pub is just off the market place.
Once inside here the pub has one long narrow room with the bar on the right,i think ths is now a Marstons house but it has still got its old Mansfield signs outside.
There were two real ales on here i had a drink of Ringwood XXXX Porter and this was very nice the other beer was Jennings Cumberland.
This pub was'nt that good inside and could do with being done up.
