Awful, we are locals and five of us went in for a meal only to be told the card machine was out of order. So we had to go into town to draw some cash out to pay for our meals only to see someone else pay with a debit card. When I asked the barman he said we tell everyone that so people do not pay by card for drinks. I asked why not just put a sign up saying that cards are only to be used when ordering food, he said well that's what our manager has told us to do so that's what we do, when I asked to speak with the manager conveniently there was not one on shift. I was told would be best to speak with the owner however you will be lucky to catch her here, whole experience was a joke.

The Southcliffe Hotel is a largish pub /bar that is on the sea front.
Once inside there is a largish room that is fairly well furnished,on the few occasions that i have been in here it has always been busy and had a lively atmosphere,this is not the sort of pub to take your mam in.
When i first went in this pub there was one real ale on the bar this was Websters Yorkshire bitter and this was a pretty poor drink.
This pub is ok for a quick drink.

This place is fantastic! I and my family use this Hotel on a regular basis, it has both a lively and friendly atmosphere and the staffs are great. This hotel is by far one of the best in the area, with its great choice of food and rooms too suit every taste.
The Hotel and bar are well kept and have friendly bar staff, that will cater to anyone’s needs. We have spent numerous evenings in the bar for family occasions, such as birthdays and anniversaries.
The food is also traditional, with a range of home cooked dishes, from Sunday roasts to chicken Mississippi. With service all day, you can grab yourself a warming breakfast or a late evening dish.
The rooms of the hotels are just what you would expect of an upmarket hotel with sea views and homely, cosy feeling. We stayed in the penthouse suite equipped with a plasma TV and Freeview television.
Overall I would recommend this place to anybody, from near or afar. We will defiantly be back again.

thankfully we never stayed in this hotel four of us went the pub for a drink and stayed all night sat outside and never caused any trouble was not rude or argumentative with anyone put a hell ov alot of money over the bar an then we was kicked out because us face dint fit even though they was still serving everyone else the barmaid refused to serve us because the poisoned dwarf (Manageress) said we had had too much. now i am not saying we werent merry because we were but we werent incapable ov standing like some other people in there the poisoned dwarf (manageress) wouldnt even give us an explanation an she was out right rude i would not recommend this pub to anyone aside from ought else she waited till everywhere else within walking distance was closed an ruined our night an didnt even have the decency to give us an explanation so all i can say is DONT GO TO THIS HOTEL / PUB !!!!!!!!!!!!!

We visited again and I can say that we had a great time. The staff were so helpfull and friendly.
We did'nt need to eat out as the food is so good and is good value. A superb choice on the menue. You will not feel hungry after eating here. Entertainment over the weekend. Bar prices are really good. Do call in and have a look, you can have a look at the rooms. Reccommended.

An excellent family run hotel. Good food, good atmosphere, good service. We stayed in the double penthouse room. Close to harbour. Great views. See my photos. We are going to visit again. Reccommended.
