Lovely old pub, though largely modernised inside, the main room to the left opened out quite a lot, with pillars splitting up the large space into sections. Good quality photos of Bob Dylan and the Beatles on the walls. The bar faces three different directions, with Salopian Lemon Dream on one side, Acorn Malthouse and Bridgehouse Rum & Raisin Stout facing to the rear, and I guess the same in the other room to the right. The very friendly and helpful woman behind the bar showed me another Acorn pump clip for a seasonal beer that was due to go on. She also offered me a Camra members discount on my half of the Malthouse (NBSS 4), which saved me the price of a loaf of bread in 1970. One to come back to for good beer and pleasant surroundings.

Cosy pub. Excellent food (specials board/superb Sunday roasts) & beers (John Smith Cask, Old Speckled Hen, etc.). Friendly staff. Well worth a try!
