This was one of the nearest pubs to our apartment accommodation in the Lanes of Norwich and we popped in on two occasions during our stay.
It looks like the corner section was originally a very small pub with the part you enter into with the bar on the right hand side being the original pub building. This is now the bar area, mainly for vertical drinking, and at some point the pub has been extended to the left into what I guess was originally a building next door, and then also to the back, thus providing two roomed areas off the main bar with seating. And then beyond the back bar is a pleasant small courtyard garden area.
Quite a modern decor and it definitely has more of a modern bar vibe than a traditional pub, especially at night when the neon signs are illuminated and the interior lighting becomes more purple and the volume on the sound system increases.
The bar is mainly focussed on keg beer offerings and artisan gins, but the entrance end does have four ale hand pumps. For our first mid afternoon visit only two were in operation, one with Woodforde Volt IPA and the second clipped with an acme hand written pump clip advertising Roosters Brewing London Thunder Porter, which actually was very pleasant and despite its modern decor the left hand room is a comfortable area to enjoy a drink when the pub is not too busy, as it wasn’t on our inaugural visit. I also liked the white and black tiled “let’s be having you” mural that adorns the wall in the bar area, in homage to Norwich’s favourite football supporting cook, whose known to enjoy a tipple on match days.
The second time was much later on a Saturday evening when it was much busier with a predominately younger crowd (well younger than us anyway), and a third ales pump was in operation with Woodforde Wherry on.
I would certainly consider to use this pub during the day, but one I will leave to the night time crowd when the sun goes down.

This is now a trendy pub and was refurbished 18 months ago. The bar is situated on the right as you walk in and in the evening when it's lit up, it looks a bit like a nightclub. You go down from the raised bar area to a central L-shaped lounge, where there is a red telephone box. The wood panelling is painted and there are candles on the tables. It does attract a different type of drinker and prices are steep, expect to pay £3.60 a pint in here. There were four ales on handpump, I went for the Cambridge Atom Splitter, which have to say was excellent.

The Ten Bells is a smallish Greene King tied house and it is at the edge of the city centre.
I had a drink of GK IPA which was nothing special.
Please note:This pub does'nt open untill 4.00 in the afternoon.
