A city centre pub that once served Adnams beers and is now, by the landlords own admission, a pub where he will never sell real ale. That on the basis that real ale drinkers are just too fussy and anal over thier beer. Well, if you are not fussy over your beer and like gas injected dead beer then maybe The Steam Packet is one for you. Oh,and I undersatnad they do serve food. Hope you dont read restauraant guides, that may be deemed to be too fussy as well.
Found the staff disinteresedon my visit and atmosphere dead, but if you like gaming machines I think they had two ..sorry, not on my pub crawl list

The Steam Packet is a smallish pub that is in a quieter area of the city centre.
Once inside there was one decent sized room that was qiute a nice room to sit and relax in over a pint,when i went in this pub it was a Adnams tied house and there were three real ales on the bar i had a drink of Adnams bitter and this was a nice drink the other beers were Broadside and Regatta.
I quite liked this pub and would have happily stayed longer if not on a pub crawl.
