Philip Gaskin left this review about The Racecourse Inn

We visited this pub early on a Sunday afternoon to find the three car parking areas were all full, so we decided to try again later in the week. The doors with ‘Bar’ above them were locked, but the doors to the restaurant were open. It was the middle of the afternoon on a Thursday, and we appeared to be the only customers. I asked about the bar area that was locked, and the friendly barman that served us in the restaurant bar told me that it was not normally open any more as there was not enough trade to justify it. It can be booked for private functions. The restaurant area is large and is mainly a carvery. Woodforde’s Wherry was available at £3.05 and Norfolk Gem at £3.30, which are reasonable prices. The barman said there were still a few regular drinkers who frequented the place, and in the evening they shut when they have gone and there are no customers. There is a large play area for children outside. A good place to take the family for a meal, but not really a pub, and not to our taste. We will not be returning
