I was really looking forward to our visit here after reading Gill's review below. Unfortunately I found their ales quite bland and were nothing to write home about. Everyone to their own as the saying goes. We got the barmaid's attention in between her text messaging. Won't return.

We caught a bus (19) to visit this 2013 Good Beer Guide pub as I wanted to try the range of beers, and wow! There was a full range and we worked our way through Classic, Legend, NPA, New Season, and Platinum Blonde having tried the Pooh Bear at a beer festival before, Peterborough last year I believe. We had no problem with any of the ales on offer, and would com back to this pub next time we are in Norwich.

The Ketts Tavern is a nice looking pub that is situated at the bottom end of ketts hill.
Once inside there was a single room with the bar to the left, the room was divided into different area with wood beams, the fron of the pub was bare boarded and had comfortable bench seating the raised area to the rear was carpeted, there was also a conservatory / lean to at the rear of the pub.
There were eight pumps on the bar with two out of use,all the beers on were from the Norwich Bear brewery i had a drink of Phoo Bear which was ok but nothing special, the other beers were Classic,Perfect Day,Platinum Blonde,NPA and Lapwing.
This is a decent enough pub with a good choice of Norwich Bear beers on,but the landlords ignorance and service badly let this pub down.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Ketts Tavern

Attractive pub located to the north east of the city centre, acting as the tap for the Norwich Bear Brewery. Inside, it has a partially opened out 'L'-shaped layout extended by a conservatory at the back. Low ceilings, fireplace, traditional wooden furniture and plenty of Norwich City memorabilia. Pool table. Beer garden to one side. Six of the eight handpumps were operational, offering a range of 'house' beers (e.g. Classic, at £3.10) plus a few guests. Overall, well worth the walk. (NB - Review dates from March 2012.)

I visited the Ketts on a Wednesday lunchtime when it was fairly quiet, the welcome was warm and friendly, service very good. The Ketts is now selling beers by a new brewery the Norwich Bear Brewing Co which provides 3 beers exclusively to The Ketts Tavern and The Rose also in Norwich. The 3 beers are Classic (3.8%)Legend (4.3%) and Platinum Blonde (5%). Hopefully the brewery's plan to include a samll brewery in the Rose comes to fruition. I'd only visited the Ketts Tavern once before and that was several years ago but i'll certainly return!
