More a comment than a review as I found this to be closed when I called on a Monday evening. It was a bank holiday so that may be the reason!

This is another canalside pub that looks the real deal from the outside, but flatters to deceive. It's got a somewhat 70s retro feel to it inside, nicely carpetted, with green velvet effect upholstered banquettes, normal chairs, small round stools, and normal dark varnished tables. There are false "brewers' rustic" posts and beams all over the place. But this pub now doubles up as a Chinese restaurant and takeaway. All the staff were Chinese, as were a group of diners in the room at the back that seemed to be the dining room, and it felt a bit strange being in a pub where everybody was speaking Mandarin. There were takeaway menus on the mantlepiece of the brick built fireplace on the left (as well as newspapers), on the bar counter, and affixed to one of the false pillars by the bar counter.

One of the false beams had on it the wording "at the Pipemakers - Pedigree, Adnam's, London Pride, and Tetley". Nope, none of the above were on. There were six brass bound handpumps on the counter, but unfortunately only one was in use, dispensing Doom Bar at £1.75 a half.

Having said all that, this was actually quite a comfortable pub. But an unimaginative ale selection (to put it mildly - if only some mild had been on!) does let it down somewhat. There is a a fairly large outside drinking area by the side of the pub next to the canal. It only had five tables; it will need a few more when the weather turns nicer. But I'm not likely to return.
