A surprising survivor of a genuine locals' pub, tucked away on an awkward turning off the main road. It is U-shaped round the central bar and lacking any pretension. Quite sporty, with a couple of TVs, dartboard and a trophy cabinet for the sport teams. There is a fairly basic garden at the rear. Beers just Doom Bar and London Pride but the condition of the latter was good.

5 years on from my last visit to the Grey Horse, almost to the day, I found that very much has changed. The reason for my visit was a friend's birthday party, which was the same reason for my last visit. So, the date is not that much of a coincidence.

This is a rowdy locals' pub, tucked away on a side road away from the busy Staines Road East. Pride & Doom Bar are the real ales here. There is a basic interior and a larger covered patio and garden area to the side and to the rear.

GREY HORSE:- I've not been in the GREY NAG for a while now...that says something. I much prefer the WHITE HORSE right down the end of The Avenue (Lower Sunbury). The Grey Nag is not terribly inviting I'm afraid, Quinno sums it up really, "cold..cramped" and dreary I suppose. Maybe that's harsh, but it does need something. Maybe a total re-design would be a good thing, and bring in more custom. But a proper re-fit costs moolah! If you want a quiet drink then this is the place. If you want somewhere with a bit more life (...or a pulse at all..!) then the 'White Horse' half a mile away may be more to your liking. It is mine :o) TJ

Small pub on a easily missed side street and very handy for Kempton train station & racecourse. 3 real ale taps 2 on during my visit. The pub has a dartboard. Horse racing memorabilia on the walls

Quinno _ left this review about Grey Horse

A blink-and-you'll-miss-it local, tucked away behind a raised section of road bridge with a couple of nice Twickenham beers on sale in very good nick alongside London Pride. Service with a smile from the ladies behind the bar made for pleasant welcome.

Main drawback was me not being too keen on the interior, cold, low ceilings and slightly cramped. Didn't really fancy settling in for a session, but definitely worth 30 minutes with a pint of Twickers.
