Recently had my first visit to the pub from the exterior it looks a very classic pub in a little village possibly a bit small but seemed to tie in with the beautiful area. Entering the pub got a very warm welcome from a lovely blonde barmaid who smiled and was very friendly immediately felt welcome.
Their wide selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks were very appealing you couldn't ask for anymore! Their were menus to hand on the bar however the food may have looked a brilliant selection but the menu look rather grottie if I were to be critical . Ordering food was a breeze due to very professional staff, within 15 minutes of ordering my food had arrived which was very handy due to having a nominal time to eat before going back to work. Food beautifully presented just like the lovely little dark-haired lady who brought it to me lovely tender rack and I'm not just talking about the ribs I had. All in all beautiful little pub food was lovely and the service was more than satisfactory.

I recently visited this pub and have to say I was very impressed with the service. I found the staff to be very friendly and professional. There is a excellant variety of beers plus a choice of four ales. On entry i noticed there is a five star rating for food hygiene. They also offer a traditional pub menu which is very reasonably priced and the meal I had was outstanding. I was also informed by the friendly bar person Sarah, about the pubs curry nights which are very popular in the village !

The ale selection remains unchanged since Quinno’s visit, with London Pride, Courage Best and Directors on. It’s clear from the exterior signage that it was hitherto a Courage pub, and interestingly like many ex-Courage pubs that I’ve visited recently it stocks Courage beers. I suppose it makes some kind of sense that if you retain the Courage signage outside that you serve Courage beers inside. There was no sign of menus or food on during my mid-afternoon visit, but I did spot someone wearing an apron in the kitchen, as well as an advertisement for curry nights on Tuesdays.
It still has that 70s retro look inside, with masses of exposed brickwork, false dark painted beams, varnished tables, with a bit of green-upholstered banquette seating near the window plus a few stools here and there. The main room as you enter has the bar counter on the right, stretching back to an area containing a pool table. The beams have a few bits and pieces on them – what looked like a couple of duelling pistols and some brass taps or spigots, and the wall near where I was sitting had two or three attractive brewery mirrors on them. There’s another small-ish room on the right containing a few more tables and chairs. There was a handful of lads at the bar (when they were not outside smoking) wearing dirty clothes and drinking Magners and Fosters tops. It struck me as the sort of place that would attract younger, possibly less affluent, drinkers. In fact I have to say that it looks better from the outside than the inside. But on the plus side, the pint of Pride that I had was in good nick, and it was a reasonably comfortable place to rest for half an hour so while waiting for the bus.

An OK community pub, clean and tidy. Three ales (Courage Best, Courage Directors and London Pride) along with a couple of bottled beers (Summer Gift and IPA - forget the brewer) were available alongside the usual keg suspects. It's pretty 70's inside, some bits are nicer than others, we sat in the decent seats at the front near the bay window. I would use it occasionally if I lived nearby.
