Don't tend to take any interest in food in pubs, but Sunday roasts are the exception. After a hard days graft that took longer than expected, was grateful to find the Woodlands still doing a roast at 1700. Possibly the finest roast I've ever had in a pub, with a keen chef/landlord keen to ensure we were happy as he too appreciated a good roast. Ale not too bad and although front of pub a little too noisy, the back section is fine. Done the job

There were two handpumps on the bar – one dishing out London Pride, and the other unused. This is a fairly average pub with not a lot going for it. The main room is reasonably furnished with mainly normal tables and chairs, and only one or two high tables and high stools. For some reason the ceiling is covered with numerous apparently random national flags – I had thought at first that they were the flags of World Cup participants, but when I spotted the Welsh Dragon I realised that this was obviously not the case. There is a separate room on the left containing a pool table and dartboard; at the back on the right there is a small covered courtyard area, no doubt mainly used by smokers. This leads on to a fairly large walled beer garden containing a fair number of picnic benches. With a little TLC this garden could be made attractive again, but alas it now seems to be largely untended.
This is another one of those “OK” pubs; quite inoffensive really, but nothing special about it that would lead me to pay a return visit.

I was in here one afternoon last week and found it to be pleasant enough. It has a pool table, dart board and at least 3 screens, which were showing Chelsea TV during my visit. I found the manager to be polite enough and the pub itself to be clean and spacious.

Pride and GK IPA were available alongside a few lagers and John Smiths Extra Smooth. I can imagine the small smoking section at the rear getting very busy late at night when smoking is not permitted outside the front of the pub.

This is a reasonable pub that probably comes alive when there is some sport on.
