Thuck Phat left this review about Swan in the River

The Swan in the River has a prime spot on the River Ouse of which it has made the most with a full on gastro makeover and large outdoor seating area.
There's a large dining area to the right so we headed left to the bar area where there were also people eating but there's no difficulty in sliding in for a pint.
The small bar hatch compares to a long bar in the dining room and tells you about the priorities here but the service was nonetheless swift, efficient and very friendly and our fellow bar dwellers were chatty and informative.
Beers on were Doom Bar and Woodfordes West Coast Wherry. Limited but the West Coast Wherry was very good and an interesting take on their regular Wherry.
We only had time for a quick couple so didn't squint at the menu but I'd happily drop by to see what they have on the pump clips.

Bucking Fastard left this review about The Black Horse

Renamed the Swan in the River and given the full gastro makeover, there is a very modern feel here.To the right of the entrance is a smart restaurant,so if you want a drink go left in through a door marked Yatch Club Bar and Grill where there is a small bar,a central chimney column with a log burner and a set of contemporary tables and chairs to pitch down on.Alternatively in good weather there is an impressive decking along the riverside, upmarket wicker chairs and some swinging recliners to watch the waterborne traffic.
There were three handpumps offering a choice of Doom Bar and Liberation Ale (decent shape,£3.60)from this free house.I didn't sample the food although plenty of other were, and the pub is popular with boaters who moor outside.
A very smart place and fine for a beer ,but not the kind of place for a major session.Closed all day Monday.
