Aqualung . left this review about The New Moon (JD Wetherspoon)

This is one of the older Spoons (1991) and so isn't a huge barn. It is set in a parade of shops rather than a High Street location and is about three or four bus stops away from Kenton Station. It's a much more pleasant place than the typical Spoons High Street location.

At one end is a dartboard which I can only assume is ornamental as otherwise the occupants of the surrounding tables would risk injury from the darts bouncing out.

There are eight pumps in total and sadly the Jaipur IPA was "available soon". I went for the Lymestone Stone Cold which was in good nick at £2.09.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The New Moon (JD Wetherspoon)

Mid-sized 'spoons, situated quite a long way from the nearest station so probably having a higher proportion of local and regular customers than most. This was certainly apparent from the friendly and relaxed atmosphere on a Sunday lunch-time, with groups greeting each other and the general buzz also making a passing stranger like me feel welcome (and thus I stopped to eat rather than moving quickly on which had been my original plan). Full marks too to the bar staff who were helpful and efficient. Nothing remarkable about the interior layout, but there is a good amount of seating out front. Beer-wise, there are only five handpumps offering a fairly limited choice of Ruddles plus four festival ales (e.g. my pint of Hook Norton Easy Weasel, £1.85 and well kept). However, quite a lot of effort had been put into creating a display for the festival - another example of this being a well managed pub which I would happily return to.

A fair sized Wetherspoon's that didn't have much in the way of guest beers on despite it being the beer festival.Perhaps it will improve as the week goes on.
