Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Blacksmiths Arms

Once a village pub on the old Hythe Road way before the A20 was invented (let alone the nearby M20 motorway). Although now a suburban food-led establishment, it does still retain some character in the bar and dining areas to the right and left of the front entrance. Also has a games room beyond the former and a terraced patio beer garden at the back. London Pride (£4.50), Purity Pure UBU and Raspberry Ripple cider from Snails Bank being poured from three of the five handpumps.

This pub is quite close to Ashford's main hospital and lies in a village that appears to have been swallowed up by the town.

We were greeted by a number of handpulls displaying a couple of Fuller's London Pride pumpclips and also Otter Ale. On ordering the Otter, we were swiftly informed by the friendly barman that it wasn't actually on. So, the choice was Pride or Pride. My drinking partner chose the Pride, which was actually pulled from a cask behind the bar, whilst I opted for a soft drink. There is no real cider.

The interior was fairly cosy and had a decent trade for a late weekday afternoon. There was a good mixture of customers from all ages and sexes. A large car park can be found on the opposite side of the road from the pub. Somehow, I completely missed it.

Under new management - and wasn't what it was six months ago. Food took an age to arrive, and when it did it wasn't what was ordered. Staff friendly enough, but in this competitive pub scene, there's better out there.
Sorry.

Keeps the 7/10 rating for the ale selection.

OK pub near the hospital which seems to have taken on the role of hospital social club (since the social club closed). Good beers, good food.
