A traditional pub with a well kept interior. The interior had many features such as an inglenook fireplace with a log burning stove, located on your immediate left of entry from the front of the pub. A nearby window sill had a fine collection of Victorian cod and beer bottles. Original, shaped timber wall intersections, along with white painted plastered panels were found throughout the majority of the pub. The interior was carpeted throughout along with upholstered buttoned bench seating. The layout consisted of one large room split into two areas by a short wall partition wall. The bar area was situated on the back left hand side of the main entrance, and was finished in a honey coloured pine timber. A row of worn bricks ran across the bottom of the front bar, either used originally to scape muddy boots on or just as a basic foot rest. Three ales on handpump, Moorhouses Peril, Black Sheep Holy Grail and Adnams Lighthouse.

Very nice, if pricey, pub that is more interested in food sales than beer. That's not to say it isn't nice. Beer garden out front with overhanging trees. Watch out for small insects, leaves and occasionally bird muck.
