A nice pub in the lower part of Heswall. Separate areas inside, a bar to your left and a larger lounge straight ahead. Real ale available. If you time it right a bus will take you to the upper part of the village. If not I'm afraid it is a steep trek onwards and upwards to the Dee View Inn. If you're lucky you might spot some famous ex-Liverpool, and some not so famous, ex-Everton players.

The Black Horse is an attractive looking pub from the outside and is situated at the bottom of a long steep hill. After wearily trudging down to the pub(which did my knees no favours at all)was quite looking forward to my first well deserved pint of the day,as it was after 12 and presumed the pub would have now opened. No such luck, and while I was stood outside cursing and swearing noticed a sign outside advertising a forthcoming Psychic night. On reflection I think the Medium concerned here (although in this case more less than average than medium)cannot be up to much or she would have foreseen me struggling down the steep gradient, got the Landlord to open up, and have a pint of Hobgoblin ready waiting on the bar.
